Adama Traoré has backed West Ham to avoid relegation from the Premier League, pointing to their spirited performance in the FA Cup defeat to Leeds as evidence of their fighting spirit.
The Hammers, currently in the Premier League relegation zone, lost to Leeds on penalties after drawing 2-2. They had trailed 2-0 before staging a comeback with goals from Mateus Fernandes and Axel Disasi.
Traoré Praises West Ham’s Fighting Spirit
Traoré highlighted the positives despite the loss. “I’m sad because of how we lost but we have to take the positives from the game,” Traoré said.
“We showed great fighting spirit and fought until the end. It’s unfortunate that we lost on penalties but we’ll try to improve and be better in our next game.
“We need to move on because this game is now already in the past. I believe we can stay up and the feeling would’ve been better if it was a win, but there were positives.”
Traoré’s January Move and Future Aims
Traore, who was signed in January by Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo, spoke about his connection with the club. He stated, “I love the identity of the club and the fans who are passionate like myself. I want to play and do well under a manager I know.”
West Ham’s Premier League Position
West Ham are currently in 18th place in the Premier League with seven games remaining. Tottenham Hotspur are only one point above them. Nottingham Forest are just 3 points clear of the relegation zone in 16th place.
