Naji Marshall Ejected as Mavericks Suffer Home Defeat

Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and forward Naji Marshall were ejected during their 138-127 loss to the Orlando Magic.

Kidd received his marching orders after just one technical foul. Marshall was ejected moments later after receiving his second technical while on the bench.

Double Technicals and Ejections

The incidents occurred early in the fourth quarter. At this point, the Mavericks were already trailing the Magic by more than 20 points.

Kidd received a technical foul alongside rookie Cooper Flagg. Flagg had objected to a non-call on what he believed was a foul. Kidd appeared to be questioning the same non-call.

Referee Sean Corbin issued the technical to Kidd. Assistant coach Frank Vogel had to restrain Kidd. Kidd then had an argument with referee Eric Lewis, who directed an expletive at Kidd as he turned away from the coach.

Marshall’s Two Technicals

Marshall’s first technical came at the end of the first half. Desmond Bane made the free throw to start the third quarter as a result.

Marshall was on the bench when Bane made a layup. Referee Lewis then blew his whistle to give Marshall his second technical.

Mavericks’ Home Losing Streak Continues

The Mavericks entered the game with a 14-game home losing streak. This is their longest since the 1993-94 season.

The Mavericks will be looking to break their home losing streak in their next match.
