Wakefield Trinity Set for Rivals Round Clash Against Castleford Tigers

Wakefield Trinity will take on Castleford Tigers in the Rivals Round, with the Adam Watene Trophy up for grabs.

The match is scheduled for Sunday 5th April at the OneBore Stadium, with a 3pm kickoff.

The Adam Watene Trophy

The Adam Watene Trophy is contested annually between Trinity and the Tigers. It celebrates the memory of Adam Watene, who played for both clubs.

Watene helped Castleford gain promotion in 2005 before joining Trinity in 2006. He made 54 appearances for Trinity before his passing in 2008.

The two clubs have played for the trophy in one game a season since 2009.

Castleford currently holds the trophy after their 26-22 victory at Wheldon Road in 2025.

Trinity’s Squad Update

Daryl Powell has named his 21-Man Squad to take on Castleford Tigers.

Mason Lino has been welcomed back into the side following a hamstring injury. Lino has been missing since Trinity’s Round One clash with Toulouse.

Jack Sinfield stepped in and impressed in Lino’s absence. Jayden Myers drops out of the squad to make way for Lino.

Fan Support and Ticket Information

Over 1,000 Trinity fans have already bought their tickets for the game. Many more are expected to flock over the common to WF10.

Tickets are still available from the Retail Store until 4pm on Saturday, as well as through Castleford’s online ticket box office.
