Iowa Lands Jaidyn Coon After Creighton Retirement News

Iowa’s men’s basketball team has received a commitment from Jaidyn Coon, a four-star wing from Storm Lake.

Coon is the second commitment for Iowa in the 2026 class.

Coon’s Commitment to Iowa

Coon was a primary target for the Iowa staff when they took over in Iowa City last spring. He initially committed to Creighton but decided to open his recruitment after his senior season, following the official retirement of Creighton head coach Greg McDermott.

Now, he’s a Hawkeye.

Coon’s Accomplishments

Coon was Mr. Basketball in the state of Iowa this year.

He helped lead Storm Lake to back-to-back state tournament appearances.

Iowa’s 2026 Class

Coon is the second commitment in the class for Iowa.

He is joining four-star forward Ethan Harris.
