Browns Coach Misses NFL Photo Due to Haircut Appointment

Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken missed his first picture day with all 32 NFL coaches in Phoenix this week.

Monken had been looking forward to the photo, but a haircut appointment caused him to miss it. Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay was also absent from the photo.

Monken’s Haircut Clash

Monken scheduled a haircut specifically for the photo on Monday. He believed he timed the haircut perfectly, noting in his agenda that the photo was scheduled for noon Pacific time in Phoenix.

However, Monken learned from Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen that the photo had already been taken.

A coaches meeting let out early, and the coaches decided to take the photo then. Monken wasn’t late; the photo was simply taken earlier than he expected.

Browns’ Quarterback Situation

Despite missing the photo, Monken has been sharing his thoughts about the Browns’ quarterback depth chart. All eyes are on Monken and his staff choosing an eventual starter for the Browns, whether it be Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, or Dillon Gabriel.

The Browns’ offseason program begins April 7. Monken was asked if he has a QB1 in mind and noted that the workload won’t be an even split for the quarterbacks who participate.

“I don’t expect the reps to be divided equally,” Monken said on Tuesday, per the Akron Beacon Journal.

Monken said he and the staff will go off “basically what we’ve seen in the past and where the year ended last year.”
