Sinner Reaches Miami Open Final After Zverev Win

Jannik Sinner has reached the Miami Open final for a fourth time after winning against Alexander Zverev. The world number two secured his seventh consecutive victory against Zverev. The Italian won 6-3 7-6 (7-4) and is set to face Czech Jiri Lehecka on Sunday.

Sinner’s Dominance Continues

Sinner is aiming to secure his second Miami title in three years. He also seeks to become the first man since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’ after his Indian Wells win this month.

The reigning Wimbledon champion, Sinner, also defeated Zverev in the Indian Wells semis two weeks ago. Sinner has won eight of his 12 matches against Alexander Zverev.

“It has been an incredible swing,” said Sinner, who claimed his 16th successive win in Masters 1,000 tournament and extended his record of consecutive sets won to 32.

“I’ve been trying to play as many matches as possible and I couldn’t do any better.

Sinner Reflects on Tough Encounter

“Today was a very tough encounter. He played some incredible tennis, but I was serving very well, especially in the end and in the crucial moments.

“Standing here again, in the final, means very, very much to me.”

Lehecka’s Road to the Final

Earlier, Jiri Lehecka defeated Frenchman Arthur Fils 6-2 6-2 in an hour and 15 minutes. This victory marks Lehecka’s first Masters 1,000 final.

“I’m very excited that I’m in a final,” said Lehecka.

“At the same time, it’s just a sport. There are more important things going on in the world right now.

“I’m just trying to do what I do best.”
