- Lucescu managed Beşiktaş in 89 matches.
Lucescu spoke about his legacy at Beşiktaş, two days before the big game. He stated that Beşiktaş’ stadium has a special atmosphere and is one of the best arenas he has ever been to.
“We will play in front of an impossible atmosphere.
I know it perfectly: Beșiktaș’ home stadium. When I left the club, I had two years left on my contract, but I left the club money, with the firm commitment that they would use it to rebuild the stadium.
It is one of the best stadiums I have ever been to.
When the other team has the ball, it puts pressure. And it’s tremendous pressure.
I don’t know if there is any remedy for the noise they will create. I will have to explain to my boys, those who have not played in Turkey, what awaits them,” said Lucescu.
