The New York Giants have added to their defensive line, securing the signature of Sam Roberts.
Roberts Joins After Spells With Patriots, Panthers and Falcons
Roberts, a defensive lineman, was originally a sixth-round draft pick by New England in 2022. He has featured in 20 games, starting twice, across stints with the Patriots (2022-23), Panthers (2024), and Falcons (2025).
In his NFL career to date, Roberts has recorded 26 tackles, two quarterback hits, and one sack.
The 6-5, 300-pound Roberts made one start in five appearances last season. He was later placed on injured reserve due to an ankle/knee injury.
Collegiate Success and Giants’ Other Moves
Before entering the NFL, Roberts was recognised as the nation’s small college defensive player of the year, winning the 2021 Cliff Harris Award. In his final season, he helped Northwest Missouri State’s defence, recording 18 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
