College Baseball Rankings: UCLA Still Top, Florida State Soar

Conference play is off to a fast start, especially in the SEC. Arkansas took its home series against Mississippi State, and Texas lost its first game of the season. LSU dropped two games on the road to Vanderbilt.

In the ACC, Clemson lost its home series to Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest had a tough week, losing all four of its games. Florida State’s series sweep helped the Seminoles jump nine spots in this week’s rankings.

West Virginia is back in at No. 20, Oregon at No. 21 and Louisiana at No. 25. TCU, UTSA and LSU dropped out of the rankings.

Georgia defeated Tennessee after Cole Johnson leaped at the wall to take away what would have been a go-ahead home run for Tennessee’s Stone Lawless.

Roch Cholowsky of UCLA hit his 10th home run this season.

Cincinnati’s sophomore, Coats, has 14 home runs and a batting average of .418, along with 35 RBIs.
