Darius Acuff Jr. now holds the Arkansas record for single-season scoring. During the Razorbacks’ second-round NCAA Tournament game against High Point, Acuff tied the record with a layup and then broke it with a three-pointer.
Acuff Surpasses Todd Day’s Mark
The three-pointer gave him 789 points this season. That pushed him ahead of Arkansas legend Todd Day, who scored 786 in 1990-91. Acuff achieved the record in three fewer games than Day.
Acuff is also the 27th player in Division I history with 700+ points, 200+ assists and 100+ rebounds in a single season.
Freshman Sensation’s Accolades
The SEC Player and Freshman of the Year is also a consensus First Team All-American. He led the SEC in scoring (22.2 points per game), assists (6.4) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3.2). Acuff is on pace to become the first SEC player since Pete Maravich to lead the SEC in both scoring and assists, and the only player in the NCAA to average at least 20 points and six assists.
Razorbacks in the NCAA Tournament
The High Point Panthers were looking to prove their place in the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas faced High Point in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Other Honours for Acuff
Darius Acuff Jr. is a semifinalist for the Naismith Player of the Year award. He has also received another postseason award.
