White Ferns Triumph Over South Africa
The White Ferns claimed a six-wicket victory in the third T20 against South Africa at Eden Park. This win was fuelled by strong hitting from the New Zealand middle order.
Chasing a target of 150, White Ferns veteran Sophie Devine played a key role, scoring an unbeaten 55 runs off 38 balls. Her innings included six fours and one six.
Maddy Green supported Devine with 34 runs off 25 balls. The hosts recovered after losing three wickets in the first 10 overs.
Amelia Kerr contributed 30 runs and Izzy Gaze added 17 at the top of the order. The run chase concluded in the 19th over following a misfield by the South African wicketkeeper.
South Africa’s Early Setback
Earlier in the match, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat. However, they faced early setbacks, losing two wickets for just 9 runs in the third over.
Devine also made an impact with the ball, taking 2-21 from three overs. Suzie Bates also took 2-10 from two overs. Amelia Kerr ran out Laura Wolvaardt for 37.
