Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly requested his agent to secure a move away from Manchester United. The player has apparently fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.
Limited Gametime Leads to Discontent
Zirkzee has reportedly been left “discouraged and saddened” by his current role in the squad. He has started just two Premier League games this season, making sixteen appearances from the bench. The Dutchman has scored twice, with his last goal coming against Wolves in December.
Zirkzee has played only 28 minutes of football in 2026 to date. This lack of gametime has apparently cost him a place in the Netherlands national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup this summer.
Agent Working on Old Trafford Exit
Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has reportedly started searching for an Old Trafford escape route. The 24-year-old apparently opted against leaving the club in January.
Speaking in January, Michael Carrick insisted the forward was a valued member of the squad. Carrick said Zirkzee had been focused on getting fit and rejoining the group, adding that it had been great to have him back in training and that he was looking forward to working with him.
Juventus Lead Chase for Zirkzee
A return to Italy is expected to be the most likely destination given his previous success there. Juventus are believed to be the frontrunners for Zirkzee’s signature.
Juventus will reportedly look to sign the Dutchman on an initial loan with an option to buy. Roma were also reportedly in talks for a deal in January, but the sacking of Ruben Amorim derailed any potential transfer. Roma’s sporting director Ricky Massara publicly addressed the club’s pursuit of Zirkzee back in January, stating that he is a Manchester United centre-forward liked by many clubs, not just them.
