Weather Delays Impact UMBC’s Travel
UMBC was scheduled to depart for Dayton, Ohio at 12 p.m. However, three hours later, the team had still not left. The weather delay caused them to miss their 4 p.m. media availability. The media availability was scheduled to preview the game against Howard.
Shortly before 6 p.m. UMBC landed safely in Dayton, Ohio after a length weather delay for the Retrievers’ charter flight out of BWI for the NCAA Tournament.
Howard Arrives as UMBC Faces Travel Issues
Howard has already arrived in Dayton for the game. UMBC is set to face Howard in the First Four. The game is scheduled for a 6:40 tip-off.
NCAA Tournament Implications
The winner of the UMBC versus Howard game will advance as the 16-seed. The winner will face 1-seed Michigan in the Midwest Region. The game against Michigan would be held in Buffalo, New York on Thursday evening.
