Oba Femi is reportedly slated to be Brock Lesnar’s opponent at WrestleMania 42. Paul Heyman issued an open challenge on behalf of Lesnar on the March 2 episode of Raw. He claimed that a showdown with The Beast Incarnate is as important a WrestleMania match as The Undertaker’s unbeaten streak used to be.
Femi’s Potential WrestleMania Opportunity
If Femi is the one to accept the challenge, it would presumably occur during one of Lesnar’s upcoming appearances on WWE Raw. It would be a banner moment for the star. It would also immediately catapult him to the top-tier of talent on the red brand.
The match would raise questions about the purpose of the open challenge if Femi does not beat Lesnar. It is worth pondering if The Conqueror really needs another WrestleMania victory at this point, especially when Femi is a star of the future. Regardless of the outcome, it will be an enormous spot for the NXT export. It could and likely will help to define his career in WWE.
Stratton’s Championship Ambitions
Tiffany Stratton celebrated her meteoric rise in WWE with a high-profile WrestleMania 41, WWE Women’s Championship showdown with Charlotte Flair a year ago. Current plans reportedly have Stratton challenging Giulia for the Women’s United States Championship. It is another championship opportunity for Stratton. She has impressed in her limited appearances since returning at the Royal Rumble and performing inside the Elimination Chamber last month.
It initially felt like there was no room for her in a high-profile match entering this year’s event. Unless it serves as the start of a feud that will culminate later, one would assume Stratton would get back to her winning ways with another title run and significant push. Even if it comes at the expense of the Beautiful Madness.
Ospreay’s Anticipated AEW Return
Will Ospreay is nearing a return to the squared circle for AEW. He’s reportedly been working out in the ring ahead of shows. Things look very promising for him to return to form as it relates to the level he was competing at before.
A possible spring return for Ospreay has been mentioned. There’s obviously a hope that he’ll factor into the AEW All In London show in a big way. The Aerial Assassin is a massive star for the promotion. Competing in London, in front of fans, friends, and family at the biggest show on AEW’s calendar is a logical goal for both sides.
WrestleMania 42 is on the horizon and rumours surrounding top WWE Superstars and their plans for the biggest show of the year headline this collection of reports from the industry’s top insiders.
