Fatih Karagümrük’s Zeki Murat Göle said before the match: “We have great respect for Karagümrük. Despite being at the bottom, they have strength and we will play a combative team. We did not give up the fight until the last minute last week and got 3 points.”

He also mentioned the injury situation within the Fenerbahçe squad: “5 players have been injured for a long time. They will all return fully fit during the international break. Ederson is suspended.”

Göle added: “Asensio and Nene are in the squad, but we couldn’t start them in the 11. They have been playing with sacrifice for 2-3 weeks, but their pain has increased in this match, so they are not in the 11. We will protect them as much as possible.”

He concluded: “We have never seen these as excuses, but sometimes we need to express them. These are difficult times, but we will overcome them and continue to fight until the end. Hopefully, we will get 3 points today and make our fans happy. Our struggle will continue until the end.”

Fenerbahçe will be hoping for a much improved second-half performance to turn the game around.
