Wyndham Clark has likened his changing golf drivers to having different girlfriends. This came during an interview with Kay Adams on her Up & Adams show on FanDuel.
Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion, is making yet another change with his driver at the 2026 Players Championship.
Clark’s Driver Analogy
Clark made the comparison to Kay Adams on Tuesday. “Sometimes it’s nice to have a week-long girlfriend,” Clark said while laughing. “I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding.”
Adams responded with “Wyndham?! Are you kidding?”
Clark continued, “I am kidding. You know, I haven’t found the right one. And when you find the right one, you lock it down, OK?” He clarified, “We’re still talking about drivers, right?”
Adams pointed out, “It’s your fourth swap of the season? Settle down, Wyndham.”
Clark replied, “I’m a free agent, and you know, sometimes it’s nice to spice things up. As you said, the honeymoon stage can be really nice.”
Driver Changes for Clark
Clark is an equipment free agent. He has used four different drivers in his five starts on the PGA Tour in 2026.
Earlier this season, he played with the Ping G430 LST and Ping G440 K. He also tried out a Titleist TSR. At the Genesis Invitational, he switched to a TaylorMade Qi4D driver.
The QiD4 is staying in the bag at TPC Sawgrass. However, Clark inserted a Titan shaft this week, making it another unique driver combination.
Hoping for a Return to the Winner’s Circle
Clark finished runner-up in 2024 at TPC Sawgrass. Perhaps this driver is the one that can lead Clark back to the winner’s circle for the first time since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
He’s made every cut this season, but finding the right driver has proven troublesome.
Maybe this is the week he finally says, “I do.”
