Dundee FC Announce Signing of Owen Bevan on Long-Term Contract

Dundee Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of defender Owen Bevan. He joins the club on a two-year contract, with the option to extend the deal by a further year. This move remains subject to Scottish FA clearance and international approval.

Bevan has been with the club as a trialist throughout preseason. He now becomes the latest addition to Steven Pressley’s squad, as preparations continue for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Bevan’s Qualities and Potential

Still in the early stages of his career, Bevan is described as a talented central defender. He is a commanding and composed centre-back, who has earned a reputation as one of the brightest young defensive talents emerging from the English game. His qualities are said to fit the style of football Dundee is looking to play.

Bevan is comfortable in possession, strong in the air, and intelligent in his positioning. The Club has actively tracked Owen’s progress over a sustained period. Dundee moved decisively to secure his signature on a long-term deal, which reflects the belief in his potential.

Dundee Football Club also extended its thanks to AFC Bournemouth for their support in making this signing happen.

Manager Steven Pressley on the New Addition

Manager Steven Pressley shared his thoughts on the club’s new acquisition. “Owen is a player that we were made aware of,” Pressley stated. He added that Bevan joined the club from day one of their preseason, and impressed significantly.

Pressley noted Bevan’s aggression and his defensive mindset. He also highlighted the defender’s composure and ability with the football. “In our opinion he’s a player with a very high ceiling and our job is to create an environment and give him the platform to achieve that potential,” Pressley concluded. “We’re delighted that he has signed.”

Bevan’s Reasons for Joining Dundee

Owen Bevan also offered his perspective on the move to Dundee FC. He stated that there were many reasons to come to the club. “I saw during my trial period that there are lots of good people here,” Bevan explained.

The manager was a significant driving factor for him choosing to come to Dundee. Bevan expressed his liking for the way Pressley works and the football he wants to play, believing it suits him. He thinks this environment will bring the best out of him.

Bevan outlined his aspirations at the club. “I want to perform here. I want to show people that I can step up a level at this club and I can’t wait to get started,” he affirmed.

Everyone at Dundee Football Club is delighted to welcome Owen and wishes him every success in Dark Blue.
