The start of the Isle of Man TT races has been pushed back after adverse weather conditions hit the island. Low cloud and incoming rain showers led to the postponement of Saturday’s racing programme.
The mountain section of the 37.7-mile course was closed at 09:00 BST as planned. Closures on the lower section were delayed initially, but the conditions deteriorated, leading to the cancellation of all Saturday race action.
Superstock TT Race Rescheduled
The first race of the meeting, the three-lap Superstock TT race 1, was due to begin at 11:00 on Glencrutchery Road. This race will be rescheduled.
Sidecar Class Suspended From 2026
Saturday’s programme was reduced to one race following the earlier cancellation of the first sidecar race. The sidecar class has been suspended from the 2026 event on safety grounds. This decision followed a review of a qualifying crash that resulted in reigning sidecar champions Ryan and Callum Crowe being hospitalised.
Racing at the 2026 Isle of Man TT is now scheduled to begin on Sunday. The schedule is set to run until 6 June, culminating in the six-lap Senior TT.
