The French Open continues with third-round singles matches at Roland Garros.
Gauff v Potapova Underway
One of today’s most anticipated matches is underway on Philippe-Chatrier as Coco Gauff takes on Anastasia Potapova.
Potapova is off to a scorching start, taking the first two games of the match off Gauff before the American settles in, taking the third game with an overhead smash.
Gauff is settling in now, hitting quality shots that force a couple of mistakes from Potapova.
The highlight of that last games was a perfect dropshot from Gauff that froze Potapova.
Parry Upset Victory Over Anisimova
The women’s singles draw saw a big upset as Amanda Anisimova (6) lost in a third-set tiebreak to Diane Parry.
It is Parry’s first fourth-round singles appearance at a Slam.
Anisimova is falling apart here, launching another forehand wide to give Diane Parry an 8-3 advantage.
Forehand long now by the American. Parry has match point now.
That will do it! Anisimova chases down a drop shot but a poor return puts her in danger as Parry blasts a shot at her and all the American can do is send it long.
Another upset at Roland Garros …
Anisimova appeared to be in danger after a double fault but she earns the next two points to draw the tiebreak at 3-3.
Parry takes the lead as Anisimova sends a backhand long. Now she hits a forehand into the next. 5-3.

Osaka and Sabalenka Advance
Naomi Osaka (16) also prevailed in three sets over Iva Jovic (17) to advance to the fourth round at Roland Garros for the first time in her career.
Osaka will face world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth round, after she dominated Daria Kasatkina in straight sets 6-0, 7-5.
Kalinskaya Reaches Second Week
Anna Kalinskaya’s had never reached the second week of the French Open before.
That changes this fortnight as the 22nd seed overcomes getting bagelled in the second set to win in three over Camila Osorio.
Her first serve was phenomenal in the third set at a clipping 60 percent. She broke Osorio twice en route to victory and a spot in the round of 16.
Kalinskaya will face the winner of Coco Gauff (4) and Anast
Berrettini in Five-Set Thriller
Court Simonne-Mathieu has a five setter on its hands.
Matteo Berrettini stays alive in this match, taking the fourth set over Francisco Comesana.
After tossing in a 111 mph second serve, Comesana blasts a backhand error on set point, sending this match to a fifth.
You have to think Berrettini has the edge. In his career, Berrettini has a 7-3 record in five-set matches.
This match, which will exceed four hours, is for a spot in the fourth round at the French Open.
