DeChambeau to Investigate Swing After LIV Golf Korea Round

Bryson DeChambeau has admitted he will hold an investigation after his second round at LIV Golf Korea.

DeChambeau has shot rounds of 65 and 68 at LIV Golf Korea to trail the leader by one heading into the weekend.

The 32-year-old’s return to form this week will have been extremely welcome.

Bryson DeChambeau is unquestionably LIV Golf‘s biggest star, so having him play well will be a big boost to interest in the tournament in South Korea this week.

However, he faces an uncertain future with LIV Golf, with Saudi Arabia’s PIF set to withdraw their funding from the league at the end of this season.

DeChambeau’s Putting Saves Him

DeChambeau made a few swing adjustments ahead of LIV Golf Korea, but he’s not been completely in-sync so far this week at Asiad Country Club.

The two-time U.S. Open champion addressed the media in South Korea after shooting a round of two-under par 68 on day two.

DeChambeau responded when asked if he was pleased with his score on Friday considering the fact that he didn’t have his best stuff.

“Yeah, definitely,“ he admitted.

“My putting saved me today. I felt like I was hitting it really well yesterday, driving it really well, and today just kind of went sideways.

Investigating the Misses

“Going to go investigate that and find out why it is. Just got to be better, man. I’m so close to playing golf that I know I can play like Greenbrier. It’s just not there yet.

“I need a better understanding of what those right misses are because I feel like I make good passes at it, and it is not going in the right direction whatsoever.

“So I have to understand and feel my body a little bit more, understand why that’s happening.“

Inconsistency Off the Tee

DeChambeau’s ball-striking has been nowhere near good enough during the first two rounds in Korea.

He has hit 15 out of 28 fairways and 23 out of 36 greens in regulation.

The American has averaged just 277 yards off the tee as well but in fairness to him, he has hit a lot of 3-woods off the tee this week.

However, his chipping and putting have been sensationally good.

Bryson DeChambeau has got up and down 11 times out of 13 attempts so far this week.

  • In total, he has had only 51 putts.
  • He has averaged just 1.42 putts per green hit in regulation.

DeChambeau cannot continue to rely on his chipping and putting if he is to win this week. He will have to improve his ball-striking in order to have any chance of earning a victory in Korea.
