Tyson Fury has hinted at a fight in Dublin on 1 August. Fury made the announcement in a post on social media. The post included a video of him training in Thailand, captioned: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland”.
Potential Warm-Up Before Joshua Fight
The fight night in Dublin is being staged by Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren. The event is scheduled to feature a light-welterweight IBO title fight between Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain at the city’s 3Arena.
Official confirmation of Fury’s involvement on the card has yet to be announced.
An August fight could serve as a warm-up for a meeting between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Joshua’s 2026 Return
Joshua returns to action on 26 July against Kristian Prenga. The meeting between Joshua and Fury is set to happen in 2026.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced in April that Joshua had signed to fight Fury.
Fury had made his return from a 15-month retirement with a points win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After that victory, Fury immediately called out Joshua, who was ringside, and the pair exchanged words.
Fury’s Recent Bouts
Fury has lost twice in 38 professional bouts. Both losses were to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024.
The Morecambe fighter attempted to goad his rival Joshua into the ring after his victory over Makhmudov.
