Andy Robertson faces a significant decision regarding his future, with Juventus reportedly expressing interest after his departure from Anfield. The Scottish left-back, who said goodbye to Liverpool, now has multiple options to consider this summer.
Robertson’s Liverpool Exit and Spurs Interest
Robertson enjoyed nine seasons with Liverpool, securing nine major honours, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League win in 2018–19. While adored at Liverpool, both parties felt the time was right to move on. Robertson, who turned 32 in March, believes he can still compete at the highest level, despite Liverpool transitioning into a new era.
During his final season at Anfield, Robertson shared minutes with Milos Kerkez. He is set to leave the club following the expiration of his contract next month.
Tottenham Hotspur pursued Robertson in January, and the left back was keen to move. However, Liverpool hesitated due to difficulties in finding a replacement and blocked the move.
Despite narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day of the Premier League season, Spurs reportedly remain interested in signing the 32-year-old. Some reports suggest an agreement has been reached with Robertson, but other clubs are now showing interest.
Juventus Enters the Race for Robertson
Juventus have reportedly entered the race for Robertson, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Bianconeri have contacted Robertson’s representatives to discuss a potential deal and are considering making an offer to the Scottish international.
Juventus, managed by Luciano Spalletti, endured a disappointing end to their season, failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League after finishing sixth in Serie A. They were also knocked out of the Champions League in the knockout playoff round.
The Decision Lies With Robertson
Robertson seemed content to remain in the English top flight with Spurs. However, Juventus’s interest could create a dilemma, presenting Scotland’s captain with the opportunity to join several of his compatriots in Italy.
Six Scottish players played in Serie A this season, including Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour of Napoli, and Torino striker Ché Adams.
- Scott McTominay finished 18th in the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
- He inspired Napoli’s title triumph under Antonio Conte last season.
Robertson is yet to play for a club overseas, despite Liverpool’s European matches. Juventus, while not as dominant as in the past, still offer a significant opportunity for Robertson to experience something new as he approaches the later stages of his career.
