Jaylin Williams is set to have a street named after him in his hometown of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
A Humbling Experience
Williams expressed what the honour meant to him. He said: “It’s really awesome. It’s a humbling, humbling thing. I’m super excited for it.”
He added that it was a ‘super humbling thing’ and that he is excited to share the experience with his family, friends and the people from his hometown.
Growing Up Nearby
Williams revealed that he grew up close to the location of the future street. “I grew up on that side of town. I grew up five minutes away from where the street is going to be,” he stated.
Family Connection
Williams also highlighted the connection his family has to the area. “My dad, my uncles, my brothers and my sister. My nieces and my nephews, they’re going to go through that school. We all went through that same school where the street is gonna be,” he said.
The street naming is a source of pride for Williams and his loved ones.
