Christos Tzolis: Club Brugge Star Open to Manchester United Move

Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis has admitted he would be open to joining Manchester United if the opportunity arose. United are anticipated to be linked with potential new signings during the summer transfer window.

Tzolis’s Impressive Season at Club Brugge

Tzolis joined Brugge in the summer of 2024 from Fortuna Dusseldorf, following a previous stint in the Premier League with Norwich City. The Greece international has enjoyed an impressive season for Brugge, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists across all competitions. This form has led to speculation that another move may be on the cards this summer for the 24-year-old.

He has made it clear he’d jump at the chance to join United, despite not being on their current shortlist. United are reportedly in the market for a new left winger once their issues in central midfield have been addressed.

Champions League Football a Key Factor

“United could convince me,” the 24-year-old said in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad. “Such a massive club with so much history. It would be hard to say no to that.”

Tzolis also hinted at the type of club he would consider joining if he were to leave Brugge. He insisted that elite European football must be on the cards for him to consider a departure.

“It would have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy. Only PSG is a better option than those clubs,” he added.

United’s Summer Transfer Plans

United were handed a major boost to their transfer hopes for this summer after securing qualification to the Champions League.

It remains to be seen which players United will look to sign this summer, though a new midfielder is widely expected to be on the agenda with Casemiro leaving Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of next month. Atalanta star Ederson and Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali have both been linked with a move to United this summer.

Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest has also been linked with a switch to United this summer, with the £100million-rated England international also wanted by Manchester City.

  • United could yet splash out on two new central midfielders.
  • A left winger and left back are believed to be the next priorities on the summer shopping list.

United have previously been credited with an interest in signing Tzolis, who was also reportedly a player of interest to Crystal Palace at the start of the season.

However, the forward has seemingly dismissed the idea of moving to Selhurst Park this summer. “The Crystal Palace train has already left the station for me,” he said.

United are expected to be linked with a host of potential new signings during the summer transfer window, with the rumours likely to ramp up over the next few weeks.
