Yeremy Pino Earns Spot in Spain’s World Cup Squad

Yeremy Pino is celebrating after earning a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad. The call-up comes just days before he is due to face Rayo Vallecano.

Pino’s Reaction to World Cup Selection

Pino last played for the national team in March. He featured as a 73rd-minute substitute in a 0-0 draw against Egypt.

Spain will open their group games against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia in Atlanta. They then face Uruguay in Guadalajara, with many expecting Spain to progress deep into the tournament.

“It’s a dream to be in another World Cup,” said Pino. He was an unused substitute throughout the whole of the Qatar 2022 World Cup campaign under coach Luis Enrique, which saw Spain exit at the quarter-final stage after losing on penalties to Morocco.

Pino Ready to Contribute

“I’m always happy and prepared. I will contribute my part. I’m always prepared. I’m trying to contribute my little grain of sand as always.

“What Luis (del Fuente) has done is incredible; he’s created a family and I’m happy too. We believe we have a team that can go for it all, and that’s the enthusiasm that drives us; that we can fight for great things, and that’s what we’re going to do.”
