The Rise and Run event took place last Sunday in Whitstable.
The 5k event raised more than £2,500 for East Kent Mind’s mental health services.
Runners Gather in Whitstable for Charity
More than 120 runners participated in the event.
Cllr Alister Brady, the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, waved off the runners.
Harrison White was the first over the line.
Groups from Across Kent Take Part
Groups from across Kent participated in the event.
These groups included Whitstable Road Runners, Team Green Beans, Ashford Striders, Misfits, the Overrun Project, Run Together Canterbury, Thanet RoadRunners, Tasha’s Runners, Beginners 2 Runners, Canterbury and Faversham, Speedy Pluckers, Learn to Shine School, Snap Fitness Whitstable, Invicta East Kent, Hernhill Herons and Reluctant Runners.
Top Fundraisers and Best Costume
Kim Growns and Ella Vousden were the top fundraisers.
The team from Starbucks raised £260.
Run Together Canterbury were best costume winners on the day.

Simon Dolby of the events team said, “I want to thank everyone for supporting us and enabling this event to be such a success.”
He added, “Huge thanks to the 20 marshals led by Lauren Mansfield, to the Marine Hotel in Tankerton, volunteers at Whitstable Junior Park Run, G4S and to Eye Sky UK.”
