Allan Hale has been dismissed as manager of Elgin City following an internal investigation.
The Scottish League 2 club announced that Hale was sacked “with immediate effect after a finding of gross misconduct”.
Hale’s Suspension and Dismissal
Elgin City had suspended Hale on 7 May. Four days later, assistant Stefan Laird was promoted to acting manager.
The club released a statement on X, stating: “Following the conclusion of an internal investigation conducted in accordance with the club’s policies and procedures, we can confirm that the men’s first-team manager has been dismissed with immediate effect after a finding of gross misconduct.”
The club added, “The club will make no further comment on this matter.”
Elgin City also stated: “We can now fully focus on the positive process of appointing a new manager and the continuation of our player recruitment plans.”
Hale’s Time at Elgin City
Hale’s suspension came after Elgin finished sixth in Scotland’s fourth tier.
He had been in charge of Elgin City since December 2023.
The 38-year-old had previously managed Highland League clubs Huntly and Keith.
The club will now focus on appointing a new manager.
