Mayank Yadav is considered a rare Indian talent: a genuine fast bowler.
He made a sensational debut in the IPL two years ago, taking three for 27 for the Lucknow Super Giants against the Punjab Kings and earning Player-of-the-Match. He clocked 155.8 kmph, the fastest ball of the season at the time. He went on to bowl even quicker.
However, Mayank’s career has been hampered by injuries since that start, making a comeback difficult.
Coach Arun’s Confidence in Yadav
Bharat Arun, Mayank’s bowling coach at LSG, still believes in him. He said that any coach would want a genuine quick in their team.
“Mayank is such a rare talent for us, but unfortunately, he has been out due to some injuries for the last two years and has been inconsistent in playing,” Arun said.
Arun added, “Now he is fit and raring to go. He is bowling with really good pace. He is somebody we have to take care of.”
Other Pacers Impress Arun
Arun is also impressed with other pacers in the team, Prince Yadav and Akash Singh. “Prince does smart hard work,” he said.
“Fast bowler is like a racehorse that has to put in a lot of hard work. He understands what his strengths are.”
Arun said Akash also has a bright future, being a left-arm pacer. “Like Prince, he also works very hard,” he added.
Arun believes Mayank is fit and bowling with good pace, and is someone they have to take care of.
