Cameron Young is now a top contender for the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. This comes after a year ago, when he was largely an afterthought among golf’s elite.
Young’s Improved Performance
Young had a T-47 finish in last year’s tournament. BetMGM Sportsbook set his odds at 80/1 to win the 2026 PGA Championship when the market opened. However, Young then turned things around, posting seven top-10 finishes through the end of last year.
These top-10 finishes were highlighted by a win at the Wyndham Championship and a T-4 finish at the U.S. Open.
The Rise in Odds
Young has elevated his game this season. He has wins at THE PLAYERS Championship and the Cadillac Championship. He also secured a T-3 finish at the Masters and made the cut in all 10 of his starts.
He went 3-1-0 in four matches in the Ryder Cup. Vegas bookmakers have adjusted to Young’s performance.
Young is now at 12/1 to win the PGA Championship. He trails only Scottie Scheffler (+450) and Rory McIlroy (+900) at BetMGM.
Bettors Backing Young
Golf bettors have flocked to Young. At BetMGM, Young has attracted the second-most money wagered and second-most tickets. Only Scheffler, the reigning PGA champion, has attracted more.
Young has transformed from a forgotten long shot into one of the most heavily backed golfers in the field. Bettors are betting his breakout is just getting started.
