Luke Littler won the Premier League Darts event in Cardiff, defeating Jonny Clayton 6-4 in the final at the Utilita Arena.
Littler, the back-to-back world champion, hit a 170 checkout to clinch victory in the semi-final against Gerwyn Price and repeated the feat in the final.
Littler’s Route to Victory
Littler broke Clayton in the opening leg of the final. Clayton responded with a break of his own after Littler failed to checkout 68 with three darts in hand.
Clayton took the lead, but Littler levelled the score. Both players held throw as the final reached its halfway stage with the score level at three legs each.
Littler almost hit a nine-dart finish, but missed double 15. A second break of the game moved Littler to within a leg of victory, and he sealed his first night win of the 2026 Premier League campaign.
Littler checked out 52 with his last dart in hand to win.
Clayton’s Performance
Clayton’s bullseye finish gave the home crowd in Cardiff cause for celebration, as he took a first lead of the final. Another final appearance for Clayton sees him remain top of the table.
Clayton beat Gian van Veen to book his place in the last four. He recovered from two missed doubles to beat 2024 PDC World Champion Luke Humphries in his semi-final 6-4.
Other Matches
Luke Humphries beat Michael van Gerwen 6-1 for his first Premier League win in Cardiff. Price beat Stephen Bunting in a deciding leg to reach the semi-final.
Littler’s average of 96.2 was short of Josh Rock’s 103.72, but Rock lost 6-4. Littler started the semi final strong.
Littler Climbs the Table
Littler said he had to focus on himself. He added that the table looks good now, as he climbs into the top four.
Clayton continues to thrive on his return to the Premier League.
