Alexander is rejoining the bullpen, which is looking for fresh arms. His last appearance was on April 30th. He is expected to be available to pitch multiple relief innings.
Harris Designated for Assignment
Harris’s time with the Astros has come to an end. He had a batting average of .226 with a .286 OBP and a .576 OPS.
Weiss Optioned After Struggling
Weiss has been optioned following a difficult stretch. He currently has a 7.62 ERA and a 2.12 WHIP. His numbers have suffered in his last six appearances. While he allowed only one run in his first three appearances, covering six innings, he has struggled since then. In those first three appearances, he walked two and struck out seven. In his subsequent six outings covering 20 innings, Weiss has allowed 21 earned runs, 18 walks, and seven home runs, inflating his ERA from 1.50 to 7.62.
