Wrexham co-chairman Ryan Reynolds has given his summary of Wrexham’s season. This follows the club’s failure to secure promotion during the 2025-26 season. Despite not achieving promotion, it was the north Wales club’s highest-ever league finish in their history.
Reynolds’ Reaction and Season Summary
Reynolds wrote on social media: “I am completely gutted by today’s result but incredibly proud of our season.” He added: “We’ve come a long way in five years and this was the best result in our 150+ year history. More to do. But for now, we have so much to be proud of. Reds.”
Director Shaun Harvey had already stated the season would be viewed as a success. He described the campaign as one of “nearly” making it rather than “we just missed out”.
Parkinson’s Plan for Next Season
Manager Phil Parkinson has said he expects Wrexham to be stronger next season. The club is likely to be serious contenders for promotion. Parkinson said that they will analyse how, why and where they fell short this term.
One area of focus will be whether Wrexham got their January window right. The core aim of the winter transfer business was to streamline the squad, with a significant number of loan departures. Incomings were not vital due to the size of the squad.
Wrexham looked at the likes of Adam Armstrong, Sidiki Cherif and Terry Devlin but moves did not materialise. The impact of those who they did bring in halfway through the season was incredibly limited.
- Davis Keillor-Dunn played just 81 league minutes.
- Bailey Cadamarteri was given only 27 minutes.
- Zak Vyner missed the final five games of the season with a groin injury.
Parkinson will also have to address the midfield injury crisis.
Just as fans may wonder whether their club might have missed an opportunity to rewrite the record books all over again.
