Knicks’ Coach Pins Hopes on Josh Hart Against Hawks

The New York Knicks are facing difficulties, and Coach Mike Brown is trying to find the right strategies. After falling behind 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks, the head coach made an observation. If the Knicks want to win this series, Josh Hart will have to play a pivotal and all-around role.

Another loss would put the Knicks in a deep hole in the NBA Playoffs. Coach Brown is considering changes to even out the series against the Hawks. He believes the key is Josh Hart. Coach Brown explained why he needs Hart, via James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.

Hart’s Unique Qualities Praised

Coach Brown said, “Josh brings a lot of physicality to the table. He’s got great hands, great feet and great instincts. He really gets into the basketball. It’s hard to compare others to him because what he does is unique and how he does it is unique.”

In their 109-108 Game 3 loss to the Hawks, Hart was keeping the Knicks alive in every facet of the game. Coach Brown saw him get nine rebounds, drop six assists, and steal the ball twice. However, he only made one of his nine field goal attempts and missed all four of his three-point shots. This resulted in a scoring total of two points in 40 minutes of playing time.

Hart’s Defensive Assignment

Hart’s primary job isn’t scoring for Coach Brown and the Knicks. His objective is to prevent the Hawks star players from performing well, but it didn’t happen in Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs first round.

“I got trust in all these guys. Obviously, offensively, today wasn’t my best game, so that was tough. But I’m trying to take the challenge of guarding Jalen Johnson, CJ McCollum and making it tough on them,” Hart declared.

A 2-1 deficit is significant in the NBA Playoffs but manageable. Will Coach Brown and the Knicks see Hart have a tremendous Game 4 against the Hawks?
