Divine Ugochukwu Enters Transfer Portal After Michigan State Season

Michigan State guard Divine Ugochukwu has reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Joe Tipton of On3 reported Ugochukwu’s entrance on Wednesday morning. The window to open the transfer portal closed on Tuesday night.

Ugochukwu’s Time with the Spartans

Ugochukwu played one season at Michigan State after transferring to the school from Miami (FL) last offseason. He appeared in 22 games for the Spartans this year, including 12 starts. He recorded 5.1 points and 1.5 assists per game.

Two of his most notable performances were hitting a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds at Rutgers and posting a career-high 23 points in a win at Penn State.

Ugochukwu’s season was cut short due to a foot injury suffered at Minnesota in early February.

Impact on Michigan State’s Roster

This is reportedly the first player from Michigan State to enter the transfer portal. With Ugochukwu’s entry into the portal, Michigan State will now have two available scholarships to add a pair of new players via the portal.
