WrestleMania 42 is almost upon us, with the 13-match card taking place over two nights at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The event includes eight title matches and is set to commence at 6 p.m. ET.
Rhodes vs Orton: A WrestleMania Mismatch?
Night 1 is headlined by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defending his title against Randy Orton.
One writer suggests the buildup for the Rhodes vs. Orton match has been poor, creating curiosity about how things will be resolved with Rhodes, Orton, Pat McAfee, Jelly Roll, and others potentially involved. Despite a rich shared history and the potential for an A-plus WrestleMania story, the program has been compared to the Gobbledy Gooker and Shockmaster. The match could be so bad it’s good.
Rollins vs Gunther: Potential Show-Stealer
Seth Rollins is scheduled to face Gunther. This match has the potential to be a show-stealer. Rollins vs. Gunther has been subtly placed on this year’s ‘Mania without the hype of the two main events. It has been compared to the Kurt Angle-Shawn Michaels match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005.
Rollins is establishing himself as this generation’s “Mr. WrestleMania.” Gunther operates as the purest form of a heel.
Night 2 Main Event: Punk vs Reigns
Night 2 sees World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk squaring off against Roman Reigns.
Vaquer vs Morgan: An Intense Feud
Stephanie Vaquer is set to face Liv Morgan. This feud has lived up to the billing as one of the more intense stories on the card. It began with a blistering, emotionally charged takedown.
