Peshawar Zalmi’s Strong Start to the Season
This season has started brilliantly for Peshawar Zalmi, with five wins and one no-result from six matches so far. Kusal Mendis in particular has been outstanding with the bat, while Abdul Samad has given the lineup some real power. For Wednesday’s game though, star quicks Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana will be unavailable as they join the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Shahnawaz Dahani and Ali Raza could both get a go.
Quetta Gladiators’ Mixed Form
Quetta’s season has been a bit of a mixed bag, as they sit firmly mid-table in fifth, with two wins from five matches. The latest result will give them confidence though, a 61-run victory over Rawalpindiz. Hasan Nawaz is one to watch in the middle-order, as his newfound consistency might be coming at the cost of his strike rate. Opener Shamyl Hussain missed the last game through illness, and so could return in place of Sam Harper today. As always, there will also be eyes on the spin duo of Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq.
