The Calgary Flames have suffered an injury blow to their defensive ranks late in the season.
Kevin Bahl was forced out of Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Stars with a lower-body injury. The injury occurred in the first period, and Bahl was ruled out when the teams returned for the start of the second.
Bahl Injured During Shift
Bahl was injured on just his second shift of the game when he was hobbled while trying to throw a hit on Stars defenceman Thomas Harley. Bahl was in obvious pain after the hit and didn’t put a lot of weight on his left leg as he skated off the ice.
Bahl’s Impact on the Flames
Bahl, 25, has been a workhorse for the rebuilding Flames, averaging over 22 minutes of ice time while appearing in 76 of the team’s 77 games so far this season.
