Paul George is returning to the lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers after a 25-game absence, as they prepare to face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. George was suspended for failing a drug test, and he has apologised before his return against Chicago. The Sixers are in need of his return with the regular season nearing its end.
However, Joel Embiid is considered a game-time decision with an oblique injury, and Tyrese Maxey is expected to remain out until April 1 with a finger injury. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Bulls Aim for Season Sweep
Chicago has the chance to sweep the three-game season series tonight. They lead the series 2-0 after a 109-102 victory on December 26. In that game, Embiid scored a game-high 31 points, but a dunk from Jalen Smith helped put the Bulls into overdrive as they scored the last 10 points of the game. That win matched the Bulls’ season-high of five straight, a streak they haven’t surpassed since.
76ers’ Recent Form
The 76ers’ attempted to secure their third consecutive win, but were defeated by the Oklahoma City Thunder 123-103 on Monday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 22 points, while Jalen Williams added 18 upon his return to the lineup. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has now scored at least 20 points for his 64th straight road game. The Thunder have now won 12 in a row.
VJ Edgecombe scored 35 points for Philly. Jared McCain, who was traded from the Sixers at the trade deadline, scored 13 for the Thunder in his first game back in Philadelphia.
Bulls Upset Rockets
The Bulls avoided a three-game losing streak by upsetting the Houston Rockets at home on Monday, winning 132-124. Matas Buzelis hit a layup in the final seconds to seal the victory. Collin Sexton led the team with 25 points off the bench, which was enough to overcome Kevin Durant’s game-high 40 points. Buzelis finished with 23 points, and Leonard Miller contributed 17.
